Overseer H.E. Dixon — A life dedicated to spreading the Gospel through the Word and worship.

Overseer H.E. Dixon
Celebrating 75 years of life and 50 years of ministry, Pastor Henry Emanuel Dixon is a beloved figure in the community. He was born on January 2, 1950, in Cordesville, South Carolina, to the late Edward and Victoria B. Dixon. He grew up in a loving household with his siblings: brothers Edmond (Ann) Dixon and Richard (Martha) Dixon, and sisters Harristine (John - deceased) Wigfall, Emily A. (Willie James, deceased) Thomas, and Marie Gibbs.
Pastor Dixon's educational journey began in the Berkeley County School System and culminated in his graduation from Berkeley Training High School in 1969. He continued his studies at Trident Technical College in North Charleston, SC, Cummings Theological Seminary in Summerville, SC, and Leadership Training at Morris College, Sumter, SC and Benedict College, Columbia, SC.
From a young age, Pastor Dixon felt a divine calling that would shape his life's mission. His mother nurtured this calling through prayer, keeping all her children grounded in their faith. He began his ministry early by sharing his passion for gospel music as a member of the family group Southern Echoes and later directed the Cordesville Community Choir.
After spending time in Boston, Massachusetts, where he sang with the Brockton Mass Choir under Bishop Nathaniel Williams, Pastor Dixon returned to South Carolina to focus on his mission work. He balanced his position as a full-time employee at Berkeley Electric Cooperative with his ministry until he felt led to dedicate himself to the church full-time.
On September 3, 1973, prophetic words through his mother foretold his destiny as the Pastor and Founder of the Ministries of Truth Tabernacle Church. The first service was held on February 1, 1975, in the Payne Chapel Classroom. Groundbreaking for a larger building occurred on February 8, 1976, and was completed on January 1, 1978.
Pastor Dixon married Prince E. Crawford on October 13, 1977, and together they raised three sons: Arturo, Ronald, and Omar. His grandchildren — Rajae, John Michael, Jadon, and Kendal — are among the many lives he has positively shaped through mentorship and faith.
An accomplished musician, Pastor Dixon recorded his first CD, "Old Time Country Church," in 2007, followed by "Sweet Water Series Vol. 1" in 2011. His song "Oh, Lord, I'm Asking You One More Time" was featured on Time Life's "Shouting Down The Aisle." He received the 2014 National Choir of the Year Award and has been active in the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
As we celebrate Pastor Henry Emanuel Dixon, we honor his remarkable achievements, the loving spirit, and unwavering faith that have guided his journey. His life serves as a testament to the power of dedication, service, and a deep reliance on God's promises.
